This summer, the Athol FRC is offering two programs to support parents and caregivers in the North Quabbin area: Active Parenting: The First Five Years and On Our Way to School. Both are free and designed to build skills and connection for families with young children.
Active Parenting: The First Five Years is a 4-week course running Mondays, July 20 through August 10, 10 to 11:30am, at Valuing Our Children’s North Quabbin Patch and Family Resource Center, 109 Lumber St, Athol. Topics include what a baby’s cry means, the growing brain, preventing tantrums, and building a loving bond. Activities for children 10 and under are available on-site. On Our Way to School is a free 6-week playgroup for children ages 4-5 and their caregivers, running Thursdays, July 9 through August 13, 10 to 11:30am, at Valuing Our Children’s Family Center, 217 Walnut St, Athol. Kids will build school readiness skills and meet new friends, and each child receives a free kit. Childcare is available for younger siblings.
