The Office of the Child Advocate’s (OCA) Center on Child Wellbeing and Trauma (CCWT) continues its work to build statewide capacity to address trauma and advance racial equity through the Trauma and Racial Equity Empowerment (TREE) Academy. TREE has brought together participants from more than 25 state agencies and organizations to tackle trauma, inequities, and disparities facing children and families.
On May 20, TREE alumni gathered for a reunion to reconnect, build cross-agency relationships, and reflect on how TREE has shaped their work. As one participant shared, “TREE gave us tangible materials that we could bring back to our agency to identify gaps and barriers!”
Attendees included representatives from the Committee for Public Counsel Services, DCF, DMH, DPH, DTA, DYS, DEEC, the Executive Office of Education, MassHealth, and the Massachusetts Probation Service.
