The Arc of Bristol County is offering both a virtual and in-person training opportunity to families across the state on how to resolve disputes with the school about a child’s IEP.
- Virtual:
- Monday, July 14th from 7:00 – 8:30pm
- In-person:
- Family Support Center Office, 140 Park Street, Attleboro, 3rd Floor on Thursday, July 24th from 10:00am – 11:30am
Here is information from the Arc:
The Arc of Bristol County’s Family Support Center is pleased to welcome Beth Doyle, Education Program Manager at DDS – Department of Developmental Services, to present “Dispute Options & Due Process in Special Education.” Ideally, families and schools always agree on what a student needs and how it should be provided. However, occasionally there are disagreements. Come and join us to explore the different avenues for resolving disputes about the IEP.
This informational session will be offered at two different times, one in person during the day and one in the evening virtually. We are offering the program twice to make the offering accessible to more families and their varying schedules. You only need to sign up for one of the two times slots as they will be the same presentation.
These offerings are open to the public and free of cost.
If you’re registering for the VIRTUAL option, the meeting link and reminders will be sent by email as the event date nears.
The IN-PERSON option will take place at our Family Support Center located at 140 Park Street, 3rd floor, in Attleboro. The building is accessible and light refreshments will be provided.
