This dynamic intensive training program introduces the Touchpoints™ approach. Participants learn concrete strategies to create and nurture collaborative partnerships with families and to talk with families about their child’s development. This practice-strengthening approach is intended to be embedded in the work that staff already do, and is compatible with multiple interventions. This training program is available virtually or in-person and includes six monthly follow-up reflective practice sessions. Using an experiential approach, participants learn:

  • A framework to look at the process of a child’s development which includes understanding periods of disorganization as opportunities to strengthen relationships
  • Strategies for partnering with parents to promote child and family strengths
  • Methods for helping parents understand and navigate their child’s development
  • Techniques for addressing developmental concerns

These strategies and tools have been shown to improve parent-provider and parent-child relationships, all of which promote family health and wellness. Touchpoints™ supports collaboration across a system of care by providing a common language that can be used between and among providers as they work to create a partnership that supports seamless care for families.
