The Framingham FRC is hosting a Portuguese-language group for parents, ‘Parenting in America,’ starting on September 22. In a small group of parents and caregivers, participants will meet virtually for two hours a week for 12 weeks every Monday from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
Parents and caregivers who immigrate to the United States bring with them a wealth of parenting strengths—drawing on culture, tradition, and family experience—yet living in a multicultural setting can be challenging. This group encourages participants to honor their cultural heritage while also helping develop new culturally responsive practices and strategies. Graduates will complete the program feeling empowered to face immigration challenges that affect them as individuals and as parents, recognizing that perseverance is key to your success
