Betty Medina Lichenstein, the former program director at the Holyoke FRC, is featured in a new mural recognizing her service to the community, particularly after Hurricane Maria In Puerto Rico.

“Betty Medina Lichtenstein is a pillar of the community when it comes to advocating for the rights of families, especially Latino families. She is one of the first Hispanic women in Holyoke to establish a non-profit in 1994, Enlance de Familias, to provide family support and serve the underserved communities. As a community leader, she was instrumental in opening up engagement between the Holyoke school system and Latino families. The city of Holyoke is honoring her with a mural.” – DCF and ASO Teams
